After our event in Victoria, BC it was time to make the amazing journey through the majestic Canadian Rocky Mountains to Edmonton, AB. I had never before driven through them, although I did spend some time in Glacier Lakes national park in Alberta when I was going to university. Driving through such beauty and majestic mountains was a very humbling experience.
We stopped overnight in Banff, and had some time to visit the hot springs and soak in soothing hot thermal waters.
After an amazing hot spring experience, we hit the road only to find a beautiful lake that invited us to stop and swim for a while. To our surprise, the water was quite warm. It was a rare time to work on our suntan as well!
After a refreshing dip, we hit the road once again. We drove for a few hours until we came across a lodge by a small lake which offered kayak rentals. Funnily enough, Dekyi-Lee and I had been planning on kayaking for a while, as she comes from a kayaking family of olympic athletes.
I leave you with some more photos of the majestic Rockies:
